PV Fundamentals—Made Simple

  • Panels, strings, inverters — how systems are put together and why arrays are always live.

  • Common configurations: roof, ground-mount, carports.

Safety First: UK-Focused

  • Risk assessments and site walk-throughs aligned to HSE guidance, Work at Height Regulations 2005, and Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.

  • PPE for cleaners (Class 0 gloves, protective footwear, FR clothing, harness selection, ear/eye/hand protection).

  • Safe approach boundaries, exclusion zones, when to stop work.

Cleaning Methods That Protect Panels

  • Water-fed poles vs. rotary brushes—when, where, and why.

  • DI/RO water, flow/pressure limits, winter/high-heat adjustments.

  • Avoiding damage: coatings, microcracks, junction boxes, connectors, cable management, bird issues and warranties.

  • Pre/post photos, checklists, RAMS, incident response.
