The International Solar Cleaning Academy (ISCA) is thrilled to announce a major milestone—over 1,000 professionals have now been trained and certified through our Rooftop Solar Panel Cleaning Health & Safety Awareness Training Course! This achievement was hit at the 2025 International Window Cleaning Association Convention in Las Vegas.  It reflects our unwavering commitment to improving safety, knowledge, and professionalism in the rapidly growing solar panel cleaning industry.

ISCA has delivered 11 different versions of this specialized training course to window cleaners, pressure washers, roof cleaners, and dedicated solar panel cleaners worldwide. Our training has been conducted both online and in-person across the USA—including a dedicated California-specific course—the UK, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Australia, France, Bulgaria, Canada, New Zealand, and Mexico. Additionally, ISCA training is now available in 30 countries and in 19 languages, making it the most widely accessible solar panel cleaning safety program in the world.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating—But More Work to Be Done

While surpassing 1,000 trained professionals is a huge achievement, ISCA recognizes that there is still much work to do in ensuring a safer, more regulated industry. The solar panel cleaning sector continues to grow, but it remains largely unregulated in many regions, leading to inconsistent safety practices and varying levels of professionalism.

At ISCA, we firmly believe that education and training are the cornerstones of industry improvement. However, true progress will only be achieved when standardization and regulation catch up with the industry’s rapid expansion. A well-regulated industry leads to safer working conditions, higher quality services, and increased trust from both consumers and large-scale solar asset owners.

Why Regulation Matters—Lessons from the Automotive Industry

The solar panel cleaning industry is at a crossroads, much like the automotive industry was in its early days. Initially, automobiles were built, driven, and repaired without standardized safety measures. It wasn’t until governments and industry leaders introduced regulations—such as mandatory seatbelts, airbags, and crash testing—that cars became safer for everyone. These regulations didn’t stifle innovation; they propelled the industry forward, making it more reliable and trustworthy.

Similarly, the solar panel cleaning industry needs clear safety standards and guidelines to protect workers and ensure the long-term efficiency of solar installations. Just as licensed auto mechanics must meet specific training and certification requirements, solar panel cleaners should adhere to standardized safety protocols to minimize risks, prevent electrocution hazards, and ensure panels are maintained correctly.

Leading the Charge for a Safer Future

ISCA remains dedicated to shaping the future of the solar panel cleaning industry through education and advocacy. We call upon industry stakeholders, regulators, and solar asset owners to support the push for standardized training and certification programs. By working together, we can elevate safety standards, professionalize the industry, and secure a more sustainable future for solar energy.

We thank every professional who has entrusted ISCA with their training and certification. With over 1,000 individuals now equipped with industry-leading knowledge, we are taking a huge step forward—but the journey towards a safer, more standardized industry continues.
